The Sydney Metro is fully wheelchair accessible, with level boarding so no ramp is needed between platform and train. Adairs offers accessible Toyota Commuter and Mercedes Sprinter vehicles in multiple seating and wheelchair configurations. All vehicles include hydraulic hoists, Q‑Straint locking systems, automatic, fuel‑efficient diesel engines, and setups for 1–3 wheelchairs plus up to 1–9 standard seats, making them suitable for group trips and community outings.

Traveller’s Aid focuses on supporting people who face travel-related challenges, helping them travel with dignity and confidence. Their services cover a broad range of practical assistance,

• Over 6,000 instances of personal care support
• Over 4,600 instances of crisis travel support
• Over 540 volunteer-assisted companion journeys

Melbourne trams

Trams in Melbourne’s city circle are free to use, which is helpful for both locals and visitors. There are designated accessible stops that allow wheelchair users to board and disembark safely, although it is important to check which stops are accessible, as these are mainly the common stops in the city .
Inside the tram, there is a wheelchair space near the entry on either the left or right side. Carers can travel for free with a Companion Card when travelling outside the free tram zone, and passengers holding an interstate pension card may be eligible for free fares in some situations.
