Hotels reviewed for real accessibility—rooms, bathrooms, entryways and on-site facilities—so wheelchair users and families can book with confidence.
My Review
The Hills Lodge Hotel in Castle Hill provides a warm and welcoming stay with many strong accessibility features. The property has step-free entry, accessible parking close to reception, wide hallways, and bathrooms designed with wheelchair users in mind, including roll-in showers and grab rails. One consideration for future guests is that the furniture in accessible rooms cannot be moved due to OHS policies. While understandable, this can limit flexibility and make navigating the room a little challenging depending on your wheelchair size or setup.
Overall, Hills Lodge is a solid choice for wheelchair users, but it’s worth keeping the fixed room layout in mind when planning your stay.
My Review
The Howey Hotel has excellent accessible rooms within their hotel. The staff are friendly, professional and willing to help with anything you require. However, now the facilities they advertise can’t be provided; the continental breakfast is not yet up and running and the laundry service is provided by one of their sister hotels and you will need to transport your laundry there yourself.

Quest North Sydney features welcoming and warm accessible accommodation. The dimensions of the rooms, corridors, doors and bathrooms meet industry standards and allow for great manoeuvrability whilst in a wheelchair or a walker. There is close accessible parking and walkways from the hotel to restaurants and shops. The bathroom features grab bars and an accessible toilet seat. These are some of the best accessible rooms I have ever stayed in, and I recommend them to anyone looking for high quality accessible accommodation.

Sovereign Gold Coast offers excellent accessibility for guests, particularly those with mobility challenges, with its spacious rooms, accessible bathrooms, and convenient pathways throughout the property. The hotel provides ramps and elevators that ensure easy movement between floors and key amenities, such as the pool, restaurants, and reception areas. However, one drawback is the bed in the lounge room, which feels somewhat out of place and awkwardly positioned, detracting from the otherwise well-thought-out layout. Despite this, the hotel’s overall commitment to accessibility, paired with friendly and attentive staff, makes it a comfortable and welcoming stay for all.

On my most recent trip to QLD I stayed at Hotel X Brisbane Fortitude Vly. This is a one-of-a-kind hotel. Their disability rooms are very user friendly. They have got seven accessible rooms on their property. The staff are so friendly when you ring up for your booking, over email and when you get to the hotel. They are linked in with the IHG Hotel & Resort Group and you can book the accessible room through the IHG website and can still get great member deals. For a more in-depth view of the room, please have a look at the video above.
